Technician II- Test

As a Technician II- Test, you will have a direct impact on testing of manufactured products at our site. Your core responsibility will be to provide operational testing and fault isolation on systems and equipment while ensuring conformance to specifications, standards and processes. You will support engineering activities by participating in design, test development, check-out, modification, fabrication and assembly of new electromechanical systems. You will identify improvements to our processes and procedures and ensure that testing and quality is a core value that comes first for our team.

 

Duties & Responsibilities

Conduct and support performance and functional tests on electronic circuits, timing solutions, logic systems and electro-mechanical assemblies during all phases of the hardware evolution process from experimental to volume production

Lead failure analysis of production issues to identify root cause and establish corrective actions

Use manufacturing, test, development or diagnostic equipment, including test programs, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, signal generators and any other specialized test apparatus

Work from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts or defined plans to perform testing, check-out and troubleshooting functions

Solder and inspect per IPC J-STD-001 and IPC-A-610; certification not required, but preferred

Document test results by completing reports and logs, summarize rework and waste, and input data into the test database

Assure that all the pertinent test / assembly documentation is accurate 

Maintain safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures, and complying with legal regulations

Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and reading technical publications

Accomplish test and organizational mission by completing related results as needed

Requirements/Qualifications:

 

BA degree/Career Technical Education School / Technical Vocational Program completion, 2-year technical degree or equivalent, or equivalent relevant work experience is required

0-4 years of work-related experience

Electronic background or related degree to effectively support electronic test operations

Familiarity with electronics assembly, testing and soldering

Must be able to read and understand test / assembly / engineering processes, procedures, schematics, layouts, drawings, diagrams, bill of materials, specifications, revision control requirements

Ability to apply / enforce / comprehend criteria and processes for acceptance and rejection of tested items

A good electro-mechanical aptitude, with solid dexterity and hand / eye coordination to work with hand tools

Ability to be trained to obtain specialized certifications required in order to perform required assembly and fabrication operations (ESD, FOD, Solder, J-STD, IPC-610)

Highly organized and detail-oriented person who can manage a fast-paced environment, has a sense of urgency, is flexible and will prioritize tasks to meet internal goals

Good verbal and written communication skills are essential. Must have the ability to work with people at various levels, including operators, inspectors, manufacturing supervisor, quality and manufacturing engineers, customer and government representatives

Proficient in computer skills and with various software applications

Ability to lift 50 pounds and work with heavy equipment, tooling and fixtures

US citizenship.

Desirable

Experience in a manufacturing or similar environment, preferably printed circuit board design / electronics assemblies

RF, microwave, high precision timing, test and measurement experience a plus

Active IPC 610, 620 and J-STD certifications

Experience with ERP (Oracle, AX) and PLM (Agile) systems

Knowledge of quality systems and ISO 9001

The hourly pay range for this position, which could be performed in Colorado, is $17.00 - $31.73 per hour.*

*Range is dependent on numerous factors including job location, skills and experience.
