Licensed Mental Health Clinician (LICSW, LMHC, Psy.D., Ph.D)

QARI (Quincy Asian Resources, Inc.) is a not-for-profit social-service organization that is currently building its community mental health program to provide culturally-sensitive and language-accessible therapeutic and psychoeducational services to Asian and immigrant children, youth, and families.

Under the direction of the Clinical Director, the Clinician will provide individual and family counseling services to clients referred through other QARI programs or community partners. These services include assessments, treatment, case documentation, discharge planning, and coordination of care with other care providers, family and other involved individuals or service providers as appropriate. Clinicians work within the context of a multidisciplinary team and can work in person and/or remotely, depending on the referrals. We are currently looking for therapists who are experienced, passionate, and ready to be a part of a dynamic, fun, and collaborative team as we are building the community mental health program at QARI.

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Hours/Week Category: Part-time, flexible hours; minimum of six hours per week

Reports To: Clinical Director

Responsibilities: 

  • Screen, evaluate and treat clients assigned by the Clinical Director. Modalities of treatment include, but are not limited to, psychotherapy/counseling with individuals, groups, couples, and families.
  • Maintain updated clinical records of individual or group clients in a timely fashion and as specified by the policies and procedures of the clinic and by standards of regulatory and funding agencies. This includes but is not restricted to a comprehensive initial assessment, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries when applicable.
  • Coordinate treatment with other involved parties as appropriate, i.e. other psychiatric and/or medical providers (PCP), schools, significant client supports, etc.
  • If requested by the Clinical Director, participate in staff meetings, clinical case reviews, case conferences, etc.
  • Attend all required trainings.
  • Maintain professional licensure and professional competency.
  • Participate in the clinic’s effort to meet Quality Improvement Plan (QIP) goals and other treatment initiatives.
  • Meet the Clinical Director regularly for clinical supervision/consultation.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Currently licensed in the State of Massachusetts as a Psy.D., Ph.D., LICSW or LMHC
  • Strong preference for bilingual candidates fluent in English and one of the following: Cantonese, Mandarin, Vietnamese, or Spanish.
  • Excellent writing and oral communication skills
  • Possess competency with time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to be detail oriented.
  • Some proficiency in computer skills, including utilizing telehealth video technology and electronic medical records.
  • Preferred experience in working with Asian, immigrant, and other diverse populations.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting and occasionally working on a computer.
