Social Media & Digital Marketing Internship - Summer 2024

The Kentucky United Methodist Children’s Homes mission is to serve Christ by meeting the physical, emotional, educational and spiritual needs of children and families. For over 150 years, we have cared for children in Kentucky who have experienced abuse, neglect, or trauma. We are a faith-based agency that serves over 1,000 youth and families annually through residential and community-based programs.

Classification: Internship

Status: Part time temporary

Department: Development

Pay rate: $15/hr

Reports to: Director of Communications and Public Relations

Job Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

The Digital Marketing Intern will assist the Director of Communications and Public Relations with ongoing digital marketing and social media content creation for a Christian audience.

·        Develop, execute, and evaluate social media content plan for Facebook, and Instagram, planning specific content for each platform. Must be comfortable with creating video for Reels, Stories, etc.

·        Write content for monthly email communications and report on analytics.

·        Write or source and publish blog content on website.

·        Contribute to quarterly printed newsletter.

·        Attend regular department meetings and report on projects.

·        Other duties as assigned.

Internship Requirements

·        Working toward degree in Communications, Graphic Design, Public Relations, Media Communications or related field.

·        Must have a valid driver’s license and transportation to office in Nicholasville, KY.

·        Must have strong time management and communication skills, both verbal and written.

·        Successful background check.

·        Intermediate – advanced knowledge of graphic design and video programs, including Adobe Creative Suite or alternative.

·        Presents a professional image.

·        Ability to communicate and work well with staff, vendors, support agencies and others.

·        Must be COVID vaccinated, or willing to be vaccinated.
