Transform Artistic Residency

Cru

Transform’s nine-month artist residency (September through May) is a partnership between Transform, Friday Arts Project, and Christos Collective. The purpose of this residency is to catapult emerging artists to the next phase of a professional career by providing them with two rare resources for artists - time and space. Along with their professional pursuit, each artist will participate in a program to better understand the integration of their art and faith.

The nine-month residency takes place in Rock Hill, South Carolina. You will not only be challenged and encouraged to deepen your skill as an artist, but also grow as a person in community - grow in your skill and your walk with Jesus. Rock Hill is a community with urban experience and aspirations yet rural love and respect. It is a community with award winning artists who are our neighbors, who raise their families and serve their local churches. The breadth of experience you will gain from a residency in Rock Hill is not only community connected - public partnerships, local business relations - but also spiritually deep - church & seminary partnerships, monastically driven. You will live in a downtown small city mere blocks from community members who are also trying to follow Jesus and be great at art.

To participate in this program, we provide training for artists to develop their own funding/patronage. This is an essential piece of this residency, as it gives artists the freedom to dedicate all of their time to their creative and spiritual endeavors, along with developing the necessary skills to clearly communicate about one’s work to others.
