Project Engineer

Project Engineer (PE)                                                                                                                        Position Description Reports to: Project Manager/Assistant Project Manager

Hours: Primarily M-F 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM unless otherwise dictated by Project Manager; 45-50 hour workweek

Job Location: 2040 Alum Creek Drive and/or Jobsite as assigned

General Overview: Under the direction of a Project Manager or Assistant Project Manager, a PE will contribute to Jobsite planning, productivity, safety, and efficiency. This person should consistently demonstrate Integrity, Gratitude, Excellence, and Leadership.

Responsibilities:

  • Know the Project better than the Customer
  • ​Track project quantities and understand the relationship to revenue
  • Collect, organize, and maintain Project Documents in PlanGrid:
  • Submit RFI’s
  • Assist with Subcontracts
  • Assist with Purchase Orders
  • Submit shop drawings and confirm they conform with the contract documents
  • Assist with pricing changes to the work
  • Manage submittals including logging and tracking
  • Send project plan updates to PlanGrid Administrator as directed by PM/APM
  • Track, price, and submit extra work items
  • Provide material certifications as required
  • Assist with project schedules
  • Submit closeout documents as required
  • Be engaged with project activities as necessary
  • Attend and be well prepared for project meetings as required by PM
  • Know and adhere to all company policies and procedures
  • Other duties as assigned.

Any deviation of job responsibilities must be first cleared by supervising Project Manager.

Knowledge, Ability, and Skills

Ability to be highly organized and accurate, ability to multitask and prioritize work assignments and deadlines, ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing, ability to receive coaching and feedback, ability to learn from others, ability to operate a computer, knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, and knowledge of grammar, spelling, and punctuation.

Qualifications

  • 2-4 years experience in the Construction Industry, preferred but not required.
  • Must have MVR that satisfies the Company’s insurance requirements
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Must be able to pass a drug test
