People Operations Intern (Fall 2024)

Job Overview:

As a People Operations Intern, you will support a variety of People Operations efforts across the company in areas such as recruiting, compensation, employee development, and community enhancement. Ideally, you are unafraid of gaining exposure to a wide variety of problems and have a tenacious attitude towards problem-solving and project execution.

What You Will Do:

  • Report to a mentor who will be responsible for feedback and learning— mentors will also assign tasks and projects to work closely with the teams
  • Collaborate with our operations and engineering teams on key people initiatives
  • Assist with projects within recruiting, compensation, employee development, and community enhancement
  • Schedule and coordinate calls, meetings, and interviews (for virtual and on-site events)
  • List and manage job postings across various sites and tools
  • Organize company-wide projects and lead events for other intern groups
  • Produce reports and analytics for People Operations and other teams

What You Will Need:

  • Current enrollment in college or Bachelor's Degree (Business, Communications, Economics, Finance, Psychology, or related field)
  • Exceptional people and communication skills (both verbal and written)
  • High level of empathy and patience with others
  • High level of organization and attention to detail

What Would Be Useful:

  • Excellent analytical and planning capabilities, with creative problem-solving and critical thinking skills
  • Experience in a small-business/startup/tech/consulting environment
  • Experience with Confluence, Jira, CRM tools, and ATS
  • Curiosity for technology, electronics, and hardware/software systems (previous exposure to engineering teams or electronics is NOT required) 

Additional Requirements:

  • Applicant must be available for the entire duration of the internship, September 9, 2024 to December 20, 2024
  • Applicant must be willing to work 40 hours a week on-site in El Segundo, California, USA
  • Applicant must be eligible to work on ITAR projects, read the description for more details on ITAR
  • Job Type: Full-time (Salary)

ITAR Requirements:

  • To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), you must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State. Unfortunately, we are unable to provide sponsorship at this time.
