General description
We’re looking for an Accessibility professional with a passion for ensuring CPA produces accessibility compliant websites, forms, and documents. As member of our SWAG (Software Web Accessibility Group) team,  you’ll leverage and grow your skill-set in a collaborative environment to promote accessibility compliance and awareness though-out the Agency. Work Hours
8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, 40 hours. Occasionally, work non-standard work hours to include additional hours on evenings, weekends and holidays.  Hours may change based on business need.

Teleworking may be considered if certain working conditions are met. The candidate must have permanent residency within the state of Texas and must be able to meet in office requirements, which can vary among different sections (i.e. report to office 1 day/month, 3 days/week, etc.). Travel reimbursements are not provided for teleworking.

 

 Minimum Qualifications 
• Graduation from a senior high school, GED or equivalent.
• Three (3) years of recent experience (within 6 years) working in Accessibility related Analyst or Software Developer role.
• Experience utilizing internet browsers such as Microsoft Edge, Google Chrome, and Mozilla Firefox.
• Experience utilizing Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Experience with Accessibility testing tools (ex.  SortSite, JAWS, NVDA, Wave)
• Experience writing and documenting information related to online research.

 

Preferred Qualifications 
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer information systems or management information systems.
• Complete copies of official college transcripts must be furnished at the time of the interview for positions requiring a college degree, and/or specific educational credits.
• Experience with accessibility standards and guidelines such as: Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.0 and Section 508 Accessibility Standards
• Experience recommending solutions based on WAI-ARIA and HTML5 attributes.
• Experience setting up and configuring test tools and assistive devices for testing.
• Knowledge of HTML semantics/tagging, hyperlink integrity
• Programming knowledge on how to read code.
• Making PDFs accessible


Substitutions
One (1) additional year of the full-time minimum experience as stated above may substitute for each year (30 semester hours) of the required education with a maximum of 120 semester hours (four years). 

 

In this role you will:
• Assist with testing customer and technical systems for accessibility compliance for both new systems and after enhancements to existing systems.  May include, but is not limited to assisting with, scheduling, facilitating and documenting results of accessibility compliance testing.  
• Assist with documenting accessibility testing results and communicating those results to technical employees for remediation.  Reviews remediation results to ensure documented issues have been adequately addressed.  
• Assist with the development of test cases and scenarios used to ensure new systems and enhancements to existing systems meet required accessibility standards. Communicate requirements and test cases to the testing team(s) to ensure thorough testing of all areas expected to meet accessibility standards.    
• Assist in development of training material focusing on Accessibility awareness and development best practice
• Perform all other related duties as assigned.
