Graphic Art and Design Intern

Peaches and Cream Foundation (PNCF) is currently seeking a graphic design intern to join our creative team! A successful graphic design intern at PNCF will have the opportunity to transform his or her ideas into visually engaging designs and study the craft at the professional level while working with our national and international partners. The Design Intern will gain exposure nationally and internationally to various design techniques and develop the skills that will be the foundation of a career in web design.

"This position qualifies for academic credit with the appropriate institution's approval." Interns may also obtain program or course credit for this experience with their educational institution's approval. Although this internship is unpaid, it is eligible for academic or course credit with your school's approval.

 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist in creating specification documents for the development team
  • Help QA test live builds to ensure consistency
  • Ensure all designs meet business objectives and goals, as well as corporate, brand, and legal standards
  • Review various marketing materials, including strategic and creative briefs and competitive reviews
  • Learn about trademarks and copyrights, and apply them to your designs
  • Design for our websites, images, logos, and other branding elements
  • Research and analyze current design trends and best practices

 

Required Skills/Experience:

Working knowledge of current graphic design software (Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.) to produce graphic art and visual materials for email and related assets.

  • Excellent organizational, time management, decision-making, problem-solving, multi-tasking, and communication skills
  • Confidence to work in a collaborative and results-oriented environment
  • Demonstrate flexibility and strong interpersonal skills that encourage team cooperation
  • Willingness to work hard, have an open mind, and accept feedback.

 

Time Commitment:

While there is no typical day, interns can expect to work at least 10 hours a week or less (depending on the academic requirements.) This is a flexible, remote position. We will work with you in accordance with your schedule and academic requirements. The final schedule will be established between the intern and the director. Internships are available year-round based on student and organizational needs. Internships typically last 3–4 months, so both the student and the organization can make the most of the internship experience. Upon completion of your internship (if it is an academic requirement), you can continue your internship or volunteer.
