Early Childhood Educator - Private School

PreSchool Teacher

Provide world-class schooling to students from low-income communities. The Greater Dayton School is Ohio’s first non religious private PreK-8th grade school exclusively for students from under-resourced backgrounds.

The Role:

Preschool teachers have mixed age classes (like Montessori) of 20 students. Two full time teachers are in each classroom and provide students an individualized learning experience. Homeroom teachers teach character education, social and emotional learning, writing, reading, math, and project based learning. We focus our teaching on individual and small group instruction, as students self-pace through curriculum materials using the latest educational technology.

What is great about this role?

  • Impact & Innovation: Teach the whole child - nutrition, character, financial literacy, and more. We don’t have tunnel vision for reading and math.
  • Wellness Services: Our students receive on-site care in pediatrics, mental health, vision, and more, in our state-of-the-art student wellness center.
  • Resources for Students and Teachers: We spend $30K per child, three times the national average. We’re leveling the playing field for kids!
  • Reduced Student-to-Teacher Ratio: 2 teachers per class of 20 students.
  • Little to No Bureaucracy: We’re a private school, and we eliminate burdensome bureaucracy that many traditional public and charter schools face.
  • Collaborative Work Environment with High-Performing Colleagues
State-of-the-art Campus: We built a $50M campus designed by one of the nations top architectural firms.
