Faculty, Anatomy and Physiology

Miami Dade College is now accepting applications for Faculty, Anatomy and Physiology.  

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Teaches lecture and laboratory sections
  • Evaluates students and performs career and academic advising
  • Plans and organizes instructional materials to meet course objectives
  • Participates in curriculum development and revision that stress innovation and multi-cultural emphasis
  • Participates in departmental recruiting and retention activities
  • Participates in a variety of departmental, campus and college-wide programs, activities and committees
  • Prepares and submits student information to Department Chairperson
  • Serves as a resource person for adjunct faculty
  • Teaches day, evening and weekend classes as needed 

Minimum Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in Anatomy and/or Physiology; or Master's degree in Biological Sciences (anatomy, cell biology, biology, botany, ecology, evolution, genetics, histology, immunology, marine biology, microbiology, molecular biology, neuroscience, parasitology, pharmacology, physiology, virology, zoology); or Professional degree (M.D., D.O) and 9 graduate semester hours in Anatomy, Physiology, Kinesiology, Embryology, Cytology, Histology, Organology, Pathology, Endocrinology, Immunology, Molecular Biology and/or Genetics; or Master’s degree with 18 graduate semester hours in Anatomy and/or Physiology
  • All educational degrees must be from a regionally accredited institution
  • Familiarity with and use of collaborative learning techniques and student-centered methods of instruction
  • Ability to function well in a technological environment and willing to use technological tools in instruction
  • Possess excellent communication skills and ability to communicate effectively with students with a wide range of skills
  • Possess excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work well with students, faculty, staff, and the community
  • Demonstrated effective use of active learning techniques
  • Previous curriculum development and recruitment experience a plus
  • Ability to work in a multi-ethnic/multi-cultural environment
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include evening and weekend assignments
  • Start date for this Faculty position is anticipated to be the beginning of Fall 2024 semester
  • Doctoral stipend awarded in addition to base salary, as applicable
