Marketing Assistant

POSITION SUMMARY:

This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. The Marketing Assistant supports the work of the Strategic Engagement Department, which is responsible for Marketing & Communications, Fundraising and Corporate Engagement. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly-motivated, well-organized, time-efficient, mission-driven team player to provide creative content and communications support.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Complete required abuse risk management training.
  2. Follow mandated abuse reporting requirements.
  3. Create and edit content for use in a variety of applications including social media posts, e-newsletters, emails/letters to members and other external audiences, posters, flyers, brochures, website content, and other PR/Marketing materials to promote the YMCA’s mission, brand, initiatives, programs and events.
  4. Assist in communications that enhance the overall awareness of our organization to members, non-members, community stakeholders, partner agencies and businesses, etc.
  5. Follow established styles and tones, including brand standards, and execute within various communication channels.
  6. Ensure program information on digital platforms including social media, mobile app, website, etc. is always up to date.
  7. Update member contact information in member management system.
  8. Proofread and edit other written materials and provide suggestions for improvement.
  9. Maintain vital internal relationships and localization of creative assets needed to support marketing and communications projects and campaigns.
  10. Other duties as assigned by the Senior Strategic Engagement Director
