Elementary Art/STEAM Teacher

Edwardsburg Public Schools, a National Blue Ribbon district, is accepting applications for a full-time, dynamic, energetic Elementary Art/STEAM Teacher. The successful candidate will maintain a positive learning environment, effectively hold high academic expectations, and create a student-centered classroom while building rapport with students, parents, and staff.

QUALIFICATIONS:
A.  Valid Michigan teaching certificate 

B. Must be highly qualified to teach elementary Art in Michigan
C.  Ability to relate positively with students, teachers and parents
D.  Ability to work with other professionals in a collaborative manner
E.  High level of interpersonal skills to communicate verbally and in writing

DUTIES:

  1. Plan and deliver instruction using the National Standards for Arts Education, for students in grades K-3 using evidence-based instructional strategies
  2. Provide and maintain an orderly classroom environment 
  3. Possess a working knowledge of formative and summative assessment strategies that align with the National Standards for Arts Education and can be used to monitor student achievement and growth
  4. Work independently and cooperatively in the teaching mode
  5. Perform other duties as assigned by administrator
