Annual Equivalent: $81,411.20 - $122,428.80

Completed applications and forms must be received by the Bloomingdale Fire and Police Commission either online or at the above address by 4:30 PM on Friday, August 2, 2024. Applications will not be mailed to applicants.

Applicants must:

Be a citizen of the United States.
Be twenty-one (21) years of age or more at the time of application.
Have a High School Diploma (or its equivalent).
Possess a valid Illinois Driver's License.
Be of good moral character and be able to perform all the duties and tasks assigned to a Bloomingdale Police Officer.
Not have been convicted of any felony or misdemeanor involving moral turpitude.
Be free from the use of illegal drugs.
IF YOU ARE NOT 21 YEARS OF AGE: must be at least twenty (20) years of age and have successfully completed two (2) years of law enforcement studies at an accredited college or university in order to be eligible to take the initial examination for Patrol Officer. Any such applicant who is approved under this provision of the Act shall not have power of arrest or be permitted to carry firearms until reaching the age of twenty-one (21) years.

Applicants must successfully pass:

written exams
physical agility test
polygraph exam
drug screen
oral interview
background investigation

The applicant also must meet the criteria established by Illinois Statutes and the Bloomingdale Board of Fire and Police Commissioners.

After a conditional job offer, but prior to actual employment, a candidate must successfully pass a medical exam and psychological exam, all in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act.

Attendance at an Orientation & Test is mandatory:
