About the Position:

Under the general direction of the Deputy Director of Environmental, a C.E.A. A, the incumbent leads the District's coordination with state and federal regulatory agencies regarding permits and agreements related to biological resources; supervises specialty biological studies; communication and outreach related to the Advance Mitigation Program, and manages the Environmental Mitigation Program (EMP). The incumbent leads the District's advance mitigation effort; and develop policy and procedures for identifying, capturing, and monitoring various forms of biological mitigation in District. Leads environmental work to implement mitigation, including but not limited to task management, identifying organizational needs, attending meetings, developing schedules and resource needs, and coordination with right of way and project management. The incumbent also severes as the district's mitigation liaison with Headquarters, local, regional, state, and federal agencies. The incumbent also monitors construction projects and special environmental programs for compliance with mitigation monitoring plans, mitigation site restoration and maintenance, and permit conditions. Oversees coordination with Asset Management and other District functions to identify and nominate Wildlife Connectivity, restoration projects, and Planning and Environmental Linkages (PEL) projects.
