This is an office-centered position*--you must physically report to the duty station stated in this announcement on a regular basis.

Duties

At the entry level of this position, you will:

• Gain working knowledge of the processes, procedures, and requirements for maintaining hardware and software systems in a variety of operating system environments, and how to install server upgrades.
• Monitor performance and functionality of systems required to support organizational objectives.
• Apply basic information security policies, principles, and practices to identify vulnerabilities.
• Communicate information about elements of system changes to customers, stakeholders and partners.
• Participate in the management of one or more elements of IT contracts in accordance with contract terms, conditions, and specifications in terms of cost, quality, quantity and schedule.

When entering a Federal job at a grade level lower than the highest promotion potential level, you may be promoted to more complex duties and work more independently, as your career progresses.
