Cleanroom and Precision Cleaning Technician

The Space Dynamics Laboratory (SDL), a University Affiliated Research Center, has been developing innovative technologies and solutions for cutting-edge DoD and intelligence programs for over six decades. Our expertise is in space and airborne IR, VIS, UV, and RF sensors, small satellite technologies, test and calibration, cybersecurity, data visualization and assurance, and ground stations.
SDL is seeking an Entry-Level Technician to perform general duties involved in the precision cleaning and inspection of aerospace hardware to support SDL’s various spaceflight programs.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Cleaning hardware using means such as solvent/chemical, mechanical, ultrasonic, and other precision cleaning methods
- Safely handling flight hardware
- Inspections using visible light, UV light, and liquid particle counts
- Packaging hardware for storage or transport
- Conducting general housekeeping of the Precision Cleaning Lab, and occasionally in the other certified cleanrooms or clean tents on campus
- Following safety regulations including wearing protective eyewear and other applicable personal protective equipment
Required Qualifications:
- High School graduate, GED, or some higher education
- Ability to see projects through from start to finish
- Self-motivated, dependable, and detail-oriented
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Ability to earn trust, and maintain positive and professional relationships
