Summer Camp - WARD CLERK with Medication Administration Training

Summer Camp - WARD CLERK with Medication Administration Training

Job description

AHRC New York City’s mission is to empower people who are neuro-diverse to lead full and equitable lives. We envision a socially just world where the power of making a difference is embraced, valued, and celebrated.

If making a difference in the world is one of your core values, we encourage you to apply for a seasonal nursing position at one of our overnight summer camps!

We are seeking college students heading into a health care field to work alongside our nursing team at our two residential summer camp programs, located in Greene County (in East Jewett, NY) and in Columbia County (in Ancramdale, NY). Our summer season operates from early June to August 26th. Each summer, we support a total of 600 campers with intellectual disabilities while they enjoy a week out of the city, doing typical camp activities adapted to their special needs including swimming, boating, nature, sports, horse riding, animal care, drama, music, art and more!

We provide overnight accommodation to all staff at our camps, with all meals provided by the camp. Staff come from many states and all over the world to spend the summer with us.

Responsibilities include managing health records in our online database, organizing medical supplies and incoming medications, speaking with families and caregivers in relation to camp applications and taking a course at the camp in medication administration. The goal is not to replace our nursing staff but to support their work and to gain experience in a health care setting at camp.
