Mayor's Office Paid Internship

Mayor’s Office - 2025 Paid Internship
The City of Evansville Mayor’s Office is seeking motivated and dynamic undergraduate and/or graduate student for its Paid Internship program. This internship provides a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in local government, public service, and community engagement while working closely with the Mayor’s team.

Position Details:
• Duration: Spring & Summer 2025 (exact dates to be determined)
• Hours: 15-20 hours per week
• Eligibility: Open to undergraduate and graduate students enrolled in an accredited college or university

Responsibilities:
Interns will contribute to various initiatives, projects, and events. Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
• Conducting research and preparing reports on local issues and initiatives.
• Developing content for social media platforms to engage the community.
• Performing public outreach and attending community meetings.
• Supporting neighborhood engagement efforts and assisting in planning and executing initiatives.
• Drafting press releases, media advisories, and talking points for the Mayor.
• Preparing articles and content for local news outlets.
• Managing written correspondence, including proclamations, certificates, greetings, and official letters.
• Assisting with data entry.
• Participating in the planning, coordination, and execution of special events.
• Attending board, council, and commission meetings to observe and document proceedings.
• Collaborating with internal departments and external stakeholders.
• Representing the Mayor’s Office at public events, fairs, and festivals when needed.

Qualifications:
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and social media platforms.
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
• A passion for public service, community engagement, and government operations.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
