Manufacturing Intern (Summer 2025)
The Manufacturing Intern is a valued member of the EDCO Products Production Department team. This full-time, non-exempt position is based in Hopkins, MN and reports to the supervisor job title. This is a Monday-Friday position with normal working hours of 7:00 am – 3:30 pm. This individual will support the manufacturing engineering team by assisting with the analysis, design, and optimization of manufacturing processes. You will work on projects aimed at improving product quality, production efficiency, and cost reduction. This internship offers exposure to real-world engineering challenges in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities

- Process Improvement: Assist in identifying and implementing process improvements for manufacturing operations.
- Data Analysis: Collect, analyze, and interpret production data to support continuous improvement efforts.
- Equipment Support: Help troubleshoot and improve manufacturing equipment and machinery.
- Documentation: Assist in creating and maintaining technical documentation, including process flows, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and work instructions.
- Product Testing: Support product testing and validation to ensure designs meet manufacturing specifications.
- Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams including design, quality, and production departments to ensure seamless operations.
- Lean Manufacturing: Assist in applying Lean principles to minimize waste, increase efficiency, and ensure safe work environments.
- Project Assistance: Support in the planning and execution of specific manufacturing engineering projects, including timelines, budgets, and milestones.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes and systems (e.g., rollforming, packaging/assembly lines, automation).
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
