SMA Operations Associate
Job Overview:
The Separately Managed Accounts (SMA) business within Lord Abbett is growing and we are seeking a unique individual to join as an SMA Operations Associate. Integrated within Client Services, the SMA Operations group is essential to ensuring our investment professionals can drive investment performance with accurate and timely access to data. As a member of the SMA Operations team, you will have a unique opportunity to not only support a growing and thriving SMA business but also be empowered to play a key role in developing our future state operating model focused on delivering scale and efficiency. You will also be tasked to collaborate with our strategic partners to ensure exceptional service delivery.
We’ll trust you to:
- Oversee the daily activity for new account restrictions, transfer in-kinds, state preference codification, strategy changes, tax-loss harvesting requests, model delivery etc working closely with our service provider and PAM Team to resolve any issues.
- Research account discrepancies by partnering with internal stakeholders as well as our service provider to resolve items in a timely manner
- Respond to both internal & external inquiries within agreed upon SLA’s
- Monitor daily account freeze notifications and escalate issues appropriately
- Coordinate new sponsor platform and strategy launches with internal stakeholders and vendors to ensure the operational setup is complete
- Support FA/RIA customized relationships and drive operational alpha through consistently improving the onboarding process and providing the highest level of client service
- Act as a change agent and look to identify opportunities for process improvements
- Actively contribute to the development of the future state operating model
- Become a subject matter expert on all things SMA related with a firm understanding of Lord Abbett’s Fixed Income and Equity products, platform availability and fees.

- Minimum 0-3 years’ experience in the investment industry specifically SMA / wrap programs
- Knowledge and experience of Security APL application is a plus
- Microsoft Excel-Ability to run data analysis and utilize pivot tables
- Bachelor’s degree-Accounting or Finance preferred
- Interest in obtaining Series 7, 66, and SIE licenses
- Currently pursuing or interest to pursue obtaining the CFA/MBA credentials
