Field Quality Engineer in Training (EIT)
We are seeking a Quality Engineer to enter our Engineer-in-Training (EIT) program to support Field Service Operations (SO) for Gas Services North America (GS NA) located in Orlando, Florida. This role is with the Quality Management department and will report to a program lead supporting service operations at customer fossil and nuclear power plants in a region of the United States. The individual will lead the regional corrective and preventive action program, lead continuous improvement projects, and support various internal and assessments. The primary function of this role is to provide quality management support to field teams conducting services at customer power plants and may require up to 35% travel.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Provide on-site support during outages and field operations at both nuclear and fossil energy plants. Engage with craft personnel and ensure adherence to work packages and quality standards. Conduct after-action reviews and ensure lessons learned are captured and communicated.
- Participate in pre-outage planning activities, including risk assessments and readiness reviews.
- Act as a liaison between the company and customers. Address customer concerns and ensure their requirements are met without overpromising. Manage professional feedback to and from the customer, and handle complaints effectively.
- Conduct surveillance of safety and quality programs in the field. Generate reports during and after each surveillance visit. Coach and train field personnel on pertinent topics.
- Review non-conformance and corrective action data to help the business make informed decisions. Engage in cross-functional teams to support problem-solving efforts.
- Support the corrective action program for the service operations function. Disposition non-conformances, conduct root cause analysis, develop corrective action plans, and ensure timely closure of issues.
- Participate in business review meetings to support the quality business partners.
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s Degree (B.S.), preferably in an Engineering discipline, or related field.
- Proficient communication skills (written and verbal) and the ability to develop thoughtful communication plans.
- Strong analytical and presentation skills.
- Relevant field experience is highly desirable.
- Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without the need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.
